Bienvenida :) editar

Hey Illeana,

Solucionado. ^^ --StephenDaedalus (discusión) 23:06 21 mar 2012 (UTC)Responder

Gracias por su ayuda con la validación. - Theornamentalist (discusión) 21:23 25 abr 2012 (UTC)Responder

Image width editar

Hey Ileana,

I want to explain my actions for changing the image size, just so we're on the same page :)

Image width, in comparison with the text is highly variable. For example, the original "upright=1.6" you had for the image width was way too big for me on my computer (A laptop with small fonts); so what I mean to say is that what looks correct for you may in fact look incorrect for someone else. So, instead of having each proofreader make it match how they see it on their computer, and have people fight back and forth (I've seen it on the English Wikisource a little bit) We have a system here that sort of removes that preference from the uploader. If you treat the horizontal page width of a vertical page as the common value (ie, upright=1, or just frameless) we can make everything relative to that. So the image width of the 1.6, spanned the full printed horizontal page width, so it can have a value of upright=1.

I know it may look a little small, but the added benefit is that it can be viewed on any modern platform; like a phone, tablet, etc, as the WIkimedia Foundation suggests that anything greater than the nominal can create a horizontal scroll bar, which is annoying to read when that happens...

Either way, I'm not going to press on about it, it's not like a rule here or anything, just a guideline (there's some info on it here) so we can remain consistent throughout a variety of publications. If you have any questions let me know. And of course, awesome job proofreading that book.

Talk to you soon - Theornamentalist (discusión) 16:46 29 abr 2012 (UTC)Responder

No problem! Upright is just a way to set a relative value to the "frameless" parameter. So, for example, if an image occupies 75% of the horizontal page width, you could say "upright=.75"; this way, no matter what the reader preference, the image width will be relative to both the original publications page width, as well as whatever the reader prefers. The neat thing about "frameless" and "upright" is that they are not hard-coded; ie; set to a definite pixel width (like 400px). If you want to see what I mean, go into "mis preferencias" and then "apariencia". You can see "Tamaño de las vistas en miniatura:" where you can change the default value of "frameless" parameter. Try changing it to 300px; because frameless and upright are relative parameters, they will all update accordingly. Frameless will become 300px (as opposed to 220px) and upright=.75 will become 75% of 300px (or ~250px) This way, we give the reader full choice over their image size! - Theornamentalist (discusión) 17:03 29 abr 2012 (UTC)Responder
