Hey Escudero,

Saturnino Celleja publications rarely contain any information about the translators or illustrator. Because this work is done under the pseudonym Saturnino Calleja we treat the work as pseudonymous, which according the both Spanish and US law directs us to look at the year of publication for copyright status. Saturnino Calleja publications also don't usually include this (it seems they've really gone to great lengths to tell us nothing!)

We can look for evidence about the work. First, both US and Spanish law for psuedo works are 70 years after the publication into the public domain. So as long as it was published before 1942, it is legal. IA scans works that were published before 1923 because of where the servers are; with the exception of user uploads which sometimes are copyvios. This was not uploaded by some user, so they most likely had evidence it was published before 1923.

Google books finds this; not much help. Worldcat gives this; again still nothing definitive.

I could not find any evidence for birth or death of the illustrator; I only found that he illustrated a book in 1900, here.

This is tough to call. If there was no illustrator attributed, I would say to upload it, because it is "pseudonymous until someone comes forward", as it clearly looks to be published around the turn of the century, with the evidence that he illustrated a book in 1900, it seems most likely he did not do so after 1942.

But since he could have easily lived past 1932, (if he was say, 40 when he illustrated these and lived til 70 years old) I cannot give you a clear answer. Unfortunately I would advise against it for now until more evidence is found. The searches I've done are cursory, and I will continue looking. - Theornamentalist (discusión) 23:03 13 abr 2012 (UTC)
